22 August, Chandrayaan 2 orbiter completed one year around the moon there is fuel for another seven years. This is what was announced from ISRO on Thursday. ISRO tried to make history by soft landing the Chandrayaan 2 on the moon’s south pole. But at the last moment the communication with lander Vikram was cut off. So the lander Vikram landed hard on the surface of the moon. Althoug ISRO lost contact with lander Vikram but it continued to send pictures of sorrundings from the camera attached to it.

All the pictures that have been taken of the moon in the last one year will be released for the public to watch. This will increase the interest of the people about moon. ISRO also have informed the number of pictures that have been taken by the Chandrayaan will open many new things to research about the moon. From these pictures we can know about the chemical composition, minerals, weather of the surface of the moon. This is why Chandrayaan 2 is being hailed as the biggest success in the history of space research in India. Notedly Chandrayaan 1 was launched by ISRO in 2008. It had given a clear idea that there is water on the moon. From that success, the second mission was planned to land on the moon’s south pole.

The Chandrayaan 2 was launched on July 22, 2019. It reached on the orbit of the moon on August 22.The orbiter is currently being maintained at 100+/-25 km polar orbit with regular orbit maintenance (OM) manoeuvres. So far, 17 Oms have been carried out since achieving the 100-km lunar orbit on September 24,2019,an Isro statement said. It could also be a base for future human space (Gaganyaan Mission) exploration of the solar system. It is going to be an extremely proud moment for India again. The entire world is waiting.
